Give to The woodlands Jazz

We place the highest priority on educating the youth, who are the future of jazz and presenting this art form in their communities, here and now. Your support allows us to continue sharing this art form and all its educational benefits with the next generation of jazz in The Woodlands.

Expand access

High-level music education is often cost-prohibitive for students of limited means. Talented young musicians can find themselves in the position of having their musical ability outpace the level of instruction available to them.

The Woodlands Jazz provides financially accessible, advanced-level instruction by making program discounts readily available to all. Nearly 90 percent of students in The Woodlands Youth Jazz program receive scholarship, with an average participant discount of 32 percent.

INSPIRE CREATIVE MUSIC MAKERS

In most North Houston public and private schools, jazz is no longer an offering. For students interested in learning improvisation, composition, and creative music making through individual and ensemble instruction, options are limited.

The Woodlands Jazz was designed to meet the needs of students who require extremely challenging curriculum to continue their musical development. Students find a community of gifted musicians, individualized instruction, and educational resources that expedite their growth.

GROW OUR COMMUNITY

The Woodlands Jazz has identified elite-level young instrumentalists to join The Woodlands Youth Jazz for the inaugural 2019-2020 season. This group represents some of the best high school musicians in North Houston.

There is still more work to be done. While we have welcomed our first class of students, there are still many musicians in North Houston who would benefit from The Woodlands Youth Jazz.

With additional funding we will have the ability to engage in marketing and outreach efforts to grow our student community, and provide expanded educational and ensemble offerings.
